PROJECT IMIDTA/2024/83 “SME R&D PROJECTS (PIDI-CV)”.

TECNOLOGÍAS AVANZADAS AGRÍCOLAS, S.L. has received a grant from IVACE for the project “Study of the decontamination of agricultural soils caused by copper with the use of alternative biotechnological products”. The project has been supported by IVACE within the program “PROYECTOS DE I+D DE PYME (PIDI-CV)”, with a grant of 38,030.72 € and with funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in a percentage of 60 %, through the ERDF Operational Program of the Valencian Community 2021-2027.

OBJECTIVE: The overall objective of the project was to study the decontamination of agricultural soils caused by copper, through the application of alternative biotechnological compounds for the treatment of crop diseases caused by different pathogens such as fungi and bacteria in olive cultivation.

RESULTS: As a result of the project, a new treatment has been studied based on the integrated management of new alternative biotechnological products for the treatment of fungal diseases in olive trees, which in turn reduce the copper content of the soil and trees.

The new treatment is presented as an effective and sustainable alternative in the control of this disease compared to conventional copper treatments, showing very positive results after two years of study in terms of pathogen control variables, production and with an exceptional advantage in the improvement of the physical, chemical and biological conditions of the soil systems where it is used.

The main advantages of the new treatment:

  • Copper free
  • Efficacy against diseases and/or pathogens
  • Avoid the loss of trees with the consequent economic losses.
  • Improves plant and soil health
  • Sustainable: suitable for organic crops
  • Treatment suitable for all weather conditions.
  • Free of chemical residues
